Symptoms include hypochondriac pain, vertigo, headache, dry throat and mouth, bitter taste in the mouth, fatigue, reduced appetite a pale-red tongue, and wiry and deficient pulse. There may be alternating chills and fever, and irregular menstruation or breast distension.
